City Wide Cleanup is scheduled for Friday, June 9 from 8:00 am-6:00 pm and Sat, June 10 from 8:00 am-2:00 pm. Dumpsters will be located at the EMS building on IL Rt 24 just west of town. Items NOT accepted are any kind of electronics, used paint cans, tires and yard waste. We WILL accept appliances, batteries and items that are at least 50% metal. 

Mt. Sterling is located in the heart of Brown County, Illinois. It is a place where neighbors know and trust one another, and where people of all ages desire to live, work together, raise families and enjoy life in a small town. The City of Mt. Sterling, Illinois adopted a Comprehensive Plan and completed a Long Range Strategic Plan and Redevelopment Blueprint in 2011. These two documents show a vision and action plan for the revitalization of the city. The plans are in place, and business, government, and citizens are excited to make it happen.
