MT Sterling Brown County Mural

The City of Mt. Sterling is in the process of changing the software used to manage our billing process to Muni-Link by Link Computer Corporation. Along with a number of features which will improve our service to you, this software includes a feature titled the Customer Portal. The Customer Portal provides you with the opportunity to access your account information and activity thought the internet. In addition, you will be able to view your account activity and pay your bill.

Beginning the month of February, your bill will look slightly different than normal due to this change. You will notice that your account number is changed to a different format and you have a new PIN number. You need to be aware of this change if you are an ebill and epay customer. Those customers will need to re-register on the city’s website,, using the new account number and PIN. We understand this is an inconvenience, but we hope the ease of use with the new software makes up for it.

Those customers currently utilizing bank draft will not need to do anything. Their payments will continue to be drafted from their bank accounts each 10th of the month. Any customers interested in signing up for bank draft can request the form by calling City Hall at 217-773-2513 or emailing the water department at
