Mt. Sterling City Lake will be closing on Mon, December 3, 2018. Thank you for your utilizing the lake and grounds!

The Mount Sterling City Works Department and the Mount Sterling Police Department would like to remind the residents of Mount Sterling that the City Yard Waste Disposal Site is for the disposal of yard waste by the residents of Mount Sterling only. Acceptable items include grass clippings, leaves, tree branches, or tree sections only. Anyone disposing of lumber, metal, household waste, furniture, concrete or any other unauthorized substance will be cited under State statute.

City of Mt. Sterling Alderman Candidate Petitions Available

              The Mt. Sterling City Clerk’s office has alderman candidate petitions available for pick up. There are three alderman seats to be filled at the Consolidated Election to be held April 2, 2019. Those alderman whose terms are up are as follows, Mick Myers in Ward 1, Allen Schenk in Ward 2 and Lauren Jennings in Ward 3.

              Candidate packets may be picked up at city hall Mon through Fri between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The filing period for candidates is December 10 through December 17, 2018.
